Our History

Since 1976, in the heart of Bucaramanga, Mariachis Los Mensajeros de México has spent 50 years filling the region’s most important events with traditional Mexican music and joy.

It all began when Gilberto Araque Méndez, originally from Misiguay in Rionegro, fell in love with mariachi music at a young age. He decided to bring together a group of musicians passionate about ranchera melodies and traditional sones, with the dream of carrying the essence of Mexico to every corner of our Santanderean homeland.

With dedication, talent, and deep respect for tradition, this group has become a cultural reference, performing at serenades, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and all kinds of special celebrations, keeping the magic of mariachi alive from generation to generation

Who we ar Mariachis Los Mensajeros de México

For over half a century, we have been witnesses and key participants in thousands of weddings, quinceañeras, family gatherings, corporate events, and community celebrations throughout Bucaramanga, Santander, and neighboring cities.

Don Gilberto continues to lead the group with the same passion as always. Although he has passed on the technique and love for this music to new generations of talented musicians, the spirit and quality that define us remain intact, staying true to our promise of being true ambassadors of Mexican culture.

Tradition: We care for every note and every gesture as part of an ancient cultural legacy, keeping alive the songs that bring generations together—just as Don Gilberto taught them from the very first year of mariachi.

Our values are the foundation of everything we do

Professionalism: We always arrive on time, dressed in our impeccable charro suits, ready to deliver the best show.

Commitment: We adapt to your needs so that the music perfectly complements your event, from classic songs to versions tailored to modern taste.

And what about our "rodedores"? Ah, that’s our affectionate way of referring to our string instruments! Each violin, vihuela, guitarrón, and trumpet has been carefully selected and maintained as if it were part of the family. Some of them have traveled with us for over 40 years, holding the secrets of the melodies that have made thousands of people in Bucaramanga dance and feel deeply—even some instruments were brought directly from Mexico by Don Gilberto during the early years of the mariachi.
